Aircraft Trust Agreements
Registering an aircraft in the United States can make many aspects of aircraft ownership such as financing, insurance, regulatory compliance, ferry and even marketing much easier. However, aircraft registration is a technical process and failing to follow the strict guidelines of the Federal Aviation Regulations can result in an invalid registration, compromising necessary legal and insurance protections. In the U.S., the Federal Aviation Administration and the Department of Transportation are primarily concerned with the citizenship of the owner, using a specialized definition of citizenship, but there are provisions to operate aircraft with a U.S. registration by non-U.S. citizens. One of the more commonly used provisions is registration via trust agreement pursuant to Part 47.7(c) of the Federal Aviation Regulations. Business Jet Consultants can assist with trust registration and help you maintain regulatory compliance without diluting the legal protections necessary for sound aircraft operation. Please ask us how we can assist you with ensuring our aircraft is properly registered.
